Others, the "and then" gag from Dude, Where's my car? And, one or two gag's from SuperTroopers. Ok, really silly movies, but they just cracked me up

Oh yeah, as you say, Futurama is damn good aswell!
And where Peter thinks that he is a woman, and then he addresses the black men at the Million Man March, and says that they are responsible for the downfall of society, and they are lazy etc etc, thinking he was talking about MEN in general!

And where Stewie has his "sexy parties", I love that bit...

    So many good memories

Yeah its not everyones cup of tea but it cracks me up and is the only TV program I make a point of watching these days. It has a pretty small target audience (i.e. young urban polynesians) so understandably aint going to tickle some people but I also like it for the cameos and some major laughs for sport fans too (Tua's "Did I do da damage??" and great to see George Nepia get some respect!).

It also makes an attempt to address social issues like low income families, alcohol abuse, racism, gays etc. I guess some people don't like to see that side of our society on TV getting so much attention and rather it be kept out of the limelight.

Yes, and no. It is always good to get that side of society out in the open, alot of people, me for example, know it's there but simply forget it during the daily goings on of life. But, it would send a much more powerful message, if it was made available (through interest) to more people.

It has got a very small target audience I suppose, so why then is it screened in a prime slot? Surely putting something enjoyed by a greater margin of people on at that time would make sense? You could move BroTown to an earlier slot, or later I guess (due to the content, as per their warning) and replace one of the repeats tv3 show?

I still think it is forced on us, in a prime slot, simply because it is NZ made. I'm all for NZ made programs (anything for that matter) don't get me wrong. Kia Kaha

    Futurama
    The Simpsons
Monty Python (I think that counts)

The Simpsons is really in a class of its own, but Family Guy and Futurama are fucking hillarious too.

The Simpsons just seems to have been getting better and better with the new episodes too. Oh and south park too!
Everything's getting so political lately though!

Not sure what I think, much better than all those shite "reality" telly programmes & fear factor b/s.

The only programme I MUST see is 6ft Under.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

    I don't watch programs like that,but I saw a little of it tonight,and um...no thanks.

I had the TV on to watch Seven Wonders of the Industrial World - what a great series that has been,I've enjoyed everyone - sorry, but no one was murdered in gory detail,no one fucked on screen or shouted fuck, fuck, fuck you silly cunt really loud so the kids could hear, there wasn't even a car chase - but call me a retard,I really enjoyed them all.Actualy I kinda liked picking holes in the reproduction of history - like tonight they were puttering on the river in 1930 with a little Suzuki outboard on the boat, the bulldozers were a bit too modern with hydraulics and stuff, but that's nitpicking....I wait all year for a handfull of programs like that which never even rate, yet all stations are chock full of shit I'd never watch if you paid me....well,show me the colour of your money eh?

The one tonight was good Motu, I liked the one about the light house, shame I missed most of them due to lack of advertising

Whatever their logic was it seems to be justified because the show is a hit as far as ratings are concerned. Every NZ forum I visit seems to have a BroTown thread and they're all very similar with one side who hate it and another that love it. I guess the big selling point is how much of the show you can relate to. Being a Maori who grew up in the melting pot of Auckland and also an avid sports fan I get all the jokes from the drunk dad bringing home fish'n'chip to the pressures of church and sports acheivements so its a great laugh for me.

Its basically like one of those "you had to have been there" kind of jokes. If you weren't then it aint funny at all and kind of annoying.

Heh, I thought when peter died and he nicked his own wallet was pretty funny.
Or the time they had Peter's boss over for tea, and Brain choaks on that bun, and they do the hinmlick (?) and it ends up going into the bosses throat and he dies. Then 'death dog' turns up for brian....etc soooo funny.

But I think I do remember watching that episode.
Stewie cracks me up. The shit he sez to Lou. Hehhehehe
