Geoffrey (to viewers): "Well, have you got your twangers out? And remember,

you can bounce your balls at the same time. If you haven't got any balls,

ask a friend if you can play with his. Now, let's all sing the plucking song."

Everyone in studio: "Pluck, pluck, pluck away, we're going to pluck all day today."

"Pluck, pluck, pluck away, we're going to pluck all day."

a family member sent me the link (wellingtonians, shoulda known the disturbing stuff would come from there) :spudwave:

It didn't; that episode was never broadcast. A reasonably comprehensive history of the Naughty Lost Rainbow Episode should be Google-able without too much effort, I'd imagine.

    Bahahahaha

    Rainbow rocked.

Some mates did a cool version of the Theme track. Jazzed it up good and proper. Dunno if any of them still have the tape, would make a damn sweet mp3 if they do.

Here's what Geoffrey Hayes says about that episode...

Andrew: The Christmas tape that Thames produced, the naughty Rainbow which has been featured on TV Offal where Victor Lewis-Smith said it was the "unscreened pilot."

Geoffrey: Victor Lewis-Smith or someone else…

    Andrew: Graham Norton?

Geoffrey: You just reminded me, that’s right, yes. The VT department of each ITV company, every Christmas had a competition to enter all the outtakes from their particular companies programme out put, and see which ones were the funniest. But ours wasn’t an outtake, we specially did it. It was specially scripted and we did it and I never saw it! We did it and Thames won it, but what they actually won, I don’t know. But I never saw the video. I can’t remember much about it except for Zippy with a banana.

So it wasn't an actual episode.

    Still hillarious.

    Speaking of kiddie shows...

...Does anyone remember that show 3:45 Live? Some of you may remember it from the episode where the hostess, Phonella Barfield, raised her arms a tad too high while wearing a boob-tube...Televised for all children to see...

But my all time favourite kiddie show episode was on the Son of a Gunn show, with Jason Gunn and Thingee (a puppet). They were starting to introduce a clip and Thingee's eyeball fell out. The puppet master and Jason's reactions were hilarious...makes me laugh just telling you about it.

    Another old kiddies one.

Remember the old gi joe cartoons? they had a public service anouncement type thing at the end. "Kids, dont do drugs" type of thing. These have been overdubbed with random language that is so ridiculous it's pretty funny.

    Yep, I remember that one.

The Rainbow is a classic, very good.
