Had a blast, beautiful scenery on the way over, thanks soooooooo much for the dub D. Unfortunatly drank way way to much, missed most of the party and flaked out on the back many times coming home.

OK, now at Hanmer unwinding after the Woodstock.

Awesome ride (ferk that wrod 'awsome' is such a cliche' these days) but it was, dry roads, interesting scenery etc etc.

Good to catch up with the usual rabble and other KBers - and meet new ones.

Took over Dangerous's job and buggered off to bed at about midnight, no more tequila left anyway.

Had a cooked breakfast using out own cooker for the first time - CB's first go at al-fresco cooking - champion! - then we lolly-gagged around Hoki for a bit and looked at the driftwood art contest before poootling off up the road - original idea was to go to Hanmer but CB decided Blackball was the go and worth a look so Blackball it was.

Cruised up on a corker of a hot sunny calm day over beautiful scenic roads and booked into Formerly the Blackball Hilton for the night, had a few drinks, a nice dinner, met another dude and his mrs who were touring on a Honda touring bike (Trans-Continantal?) then looked around Blackball (property maintenance is not a high priority in that town apparently) and hit the sack at about 10pm. (no ghosts spotted despite the legends)

Up this morning, cruised via Reefton and Springs Junction to Hanmer with a hot strong wind behind us and not much traffic and here we are, heading to the hot-pools for some r&r.
Winding up drongos, foil hat wearers and over sensitive KBers for over 14,000 posts...........

    Argh!

Other campers came over when we were putting gear in our tent @ Hanmer and after they found out we had been at Woodstock they said "Oh, there was this guy here last night, he had been at the bike rally too, his name was Selwyn and he rode a big Triumph, he was heading to Picton today"

Shee-it, we HAD planned on being here last night - but CB said "Blackball" so who was I to argu????

Shame, would have been nice to have caught up with him again.

    Great time had by all

What a great rally. Bit of a change in entertainment. The front-wheel drive ute was "different" - pity they didn't allow people to do time trials with it or summit instead of a couple of laps then blowing the engine. Fireworks was good.

And good free and frank conversations about ... (stays on the rally!!!)

Panorama of the site. Covers the main tent area but there were a lot of tents in the next door paddock also.
