Ref put the nail in the coffin. But it is purely AB's fault for putting themselves in such a bad situation. The ABs showed the "we are the kings" passion in the first half and the French played in the second half with a "we will not roll over" passion. And the ABs let them.
Who watched the Auckland win over Canteb for the Shield? That's the way Rugby should be played. 80 minutes of pure passion, determination and grit. NO LET OFF

if you want to let the results speak for themselves then stop looking solely at the RWC and consider all of rugby history, the trinations, the super12, every tour we've ever been on, lions tours, etc, etc.....NZ has played something like 400-500 tests, only 30-40 of those games have been in world cups...
we have the best record of any nation, against any nation....thats a fact, dont bother arguing about it, its a FACT....
you're the one that said we aren't consistent when its a FACT that we are more consistent than any other team in the world....

All I know, is that the NZ media put rugby highest up on their list of events, when there are hundreds of other sports events happening around NZ and NZers competing on the world stage to remarkable success. Not all kiwi success is advertised either. That sucks - and that is fact!! I couldn't give a toss about watching on the news an all black playing fucken golf, or going swimming, or whatever. We as a country pump them up to something they are not. Yes, ok you said we have the best record - so does their complacency help their world cup results? I agree with MD - Send the ABs next time without any NZ media and we will win. Every World cup they build up how great thou art ABs. All we have seen on the telly for months was how so and so is the best in the world at position this or that. Shut the fuck up, let the boys practice in silence and without expectations stacked upon their egos.
Then we will see real passion put back into the sport that so many NZers love (except me).

When you talk about any sort of competition on a global basis and promoting a team by saying things like 'more consistent than any other team in the world' then you would sort of expect the said team to do a little bit better in the 'World cup', wouldn't you?

yes, i guess you would, but that wasnt my point.....i was just responding to an inaccurate post that we weren't as consistent as we are made out to be....when in fact we ARE more consistent that any the team in the world....
