that happens all the time down there I've noticed

was quoted $275 for chain and sprockets, got there and they charged me $250

i bought rear pads for $45 then they quoted me $57 for a new set to go with the new disc....but THEN, i discover that the new disc comes with a 'free' set of pads anyway....

and they quoted me $70 a side for the front pads

I'll probably head off up the Taka's and check out the cafe at the top. Probably go home via Martinborough, Gladstone, maybe Lake Ferry depending. Possibly do Alfredton way as well.

I'll probably be with you mate. Unless the weather is really bad I'd like to head back via the wairarapa. Quite keen to check out that cafe too.

Out of interest, how fast DO you guys go on the main roads? Hoping I won't get left behind. I've trained myself to behave (nothin over 110) on the main roads. Couple of painful tickets. Of course I have fun on the backroads...

Speaking of weather, the report looks OK so far... Late afternoon showers on the Manawatu/WLG side, possibly windy in the Wairarapa. Could be worse

The $64 million dollar question. how fast do we REALLY ride? The truth is it depends who has lead and their mindset at the time.
Somewhere between 115-215km/hr. Usually around the 120-130k for the longer, more main roads.
There has been plenty of voice around slowing down on the main roads and it should be taken heed really. I wont be doing anything over 120 on the main roads after last weekends encounter.
