So somewhere, on a corner out from Whanga, there is a cbr sitting on the side of the road???

Restart OK, or did you push it back to Auckland?

I tried bump starting it while I had some momentum but it wouldn't fire. I pulled over and it started again.

I'll go over it tonight and check a few things out.

Often thats not a good move - probably OK with a new bike but late 80's to mid 90's bikes didn't have very good protection for the ECU and that can fry them - oh wait - thats italian bikes.. ;-)

Turning the ignition off/on and sometimes the kill switch often 'cycles' or resets the ECU so possibly check connections - odd though... If it died 'pop' it could be electrical rather than spluttering (fuel) but 90% of all fuel problems are electrical....

I had a similar problem, was riding a bike back for a mate, and we got off the motorway, came to a set of lights, just as the revs dropped below 5000, bike cut out. I tested and the bike isn't actually making any power, meaning I ran the battery flat in the time that I was riding it.

10% less diesel is still better than 0%
Ethanol doesnt sound so hippy when you talk about a 6 sec quarter, or an interesting spike for JD.
