    Poverty is owning a horse.

How many people here are or were involved in horses? I know Chanceyy and flame are horsey types but who else?

I've just been looking back at some old Pony Club pics and reminiscing about the old days....trekking and pony club camps were so much fun! Then I found motorbikes and boys....and the rest is history.

So how many of you still have the real horse power?

I use to fully be into horses, got my first pony at 5 yrs of age. Planned my future in Natural Horsemanship and got an apprenticeship offer in it. Planned to go to Australia and France from there. Was stoked but my health kept declining. Was too stubborn to even think that being allergic to horses could be a possibility, until I was incredibly sick and had no other choice. I still love them but I'm still paying with poor health even though it's been a year and a half since I gave up.

So bikes have been a really good thing to keep me busy

Horses would be ok if someone could work out a way to fit handlebars to em......steering them with the ears just seems dodgey to me

I fail to see the need for "horse float" trailers.
Horses are a mode of transport. Get on the damn thing and ride it to whatever destination is intended rather than clogging up the roads with these abominations!

Awww Jas that's tragic! Cant imagine being allergic to something ya love....mind you, could be like marriage.
There was one girl, Amanda Crow, she was allergic to dust, icecream, dogs, hay, pollen, you name it, she reacted. It was the drought of summer 1985 at Tikitere shearer's quarters, five day camp and 20% of our girls were in hospital on the third night. Amanda ate Icecream and had a wicked asthmas attack. Kathryn, Melly and I were 3 up on the farm bike when Phillipa came at us with a broom and we nose-dived off a 3 foot bank onto the gravel road. Kathryn broke her nose on the handle bar, I landed face first and put my teeth through my lip and Melly grazed her hands. Those were the days!

Well those bits of rope are no good.......there to loose.....by the time you give em a good yank your leaning so far back the front wheels should come up,instead the fa%kin thing stops on a dime and away you go over the bars..
