    muffler welding

    hey..have bought some mufflers for my suzuki gs450 and have realised that they are stainless ..wot is the exhaust tubing made from is it just a thin mild steel and can they be welded together and wot sort of welding would u use...cheers

    yep stainless and mild steel can be welded together. not recommended in an area of vibration though. Bolted flanges would be better.

    Use Tig with 309 wire will be sweet as anywhere if you are a good welder .

    I would purge it before welding. Like above have said, use 309 wire, or it will crack.
