And the faster you go I think the scarier it gets....!! Cool bout the lap timer!!

Gah and I are going to Taupo. Downside of this is can't cross enter as F1 and F2 are the same race, further away from home, and no lap timing or qualifying - ie first come first served grid positions. The only upside is that I like the track better - and less scary if you want to get those lap times down.

    great stuff leong!
if i may, look up where yours develops peak power, that way you can fiddle with gearing & avoid having a chat with Mr Limiter as much..
look forward to the Manfield Suzuki day footage
(no wonder i was struggling to even remotely hold on to ya that day! those tyre warmers did their job, innit?!)

I'm doing AMCC for the same reason...can enter two classes. Plus, if history is anything to go by, it will be better organised than PMCC.

Formula Auckland is just F1/Superbike, basically the open class. So you can enter that and F2.

Yeah Puke is a scary mongrel of a track, but can be very good fun in certain parts when you get it right.

What sort of times were you getting at the Open Day?

Gearing.... yet another thing to fiddle with and learn about!! Warmers are great. Did the Honda day without them last week and that really proved just how much difference it makes to the feel of the tyres and confidence from the start. Not to mention the reduction in the number of heat cycles

Manfeild Suzuki footage is here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=60393 and you're in it....(trying to run me over!!)

yeah Id much rather ride taupo but I think I need a bit more practice at puke so ill go there...

When I got clean laps I was comfortably in the 103s which is a long way off race pace from what I have been told... I think the good guys are like 7 secs a lap faster then that so im gonna get smoked!

Good stuff, mate! 1:03's is bloody awesome for your first time there!

If, by the good guys, you mean Sam Smith, Scott Charlton, etc. Then yeah, you're a bit off their pace, which is mid 58's on a 600.

So only 5 seconds off them at your first attempt is not something to be disappointed with.
