What size are your main jets?

    I've got 2 x 82.5 and 2 x 80 main jets for Mikunis.

You can have them if you want. I can post them to you gratis.

But how the hell did you wear out your mains and your needles?

You might be better off trying to get 4 new carbs from either the wreckers or trademe.

As for the brakes, I thing shandawg is selling some zxr250 stuff. Try him. Actually he may even have some carbies.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

celtic--yep jets just plain wear out specially on lil bikes.
I'd talk to the guys at mout eden motorcycles and bite the bullet and buy a set of jets-they aint cheap but they will instantly improve how the bike runs--actually for that matter they bring in shit loads of those lil bikes--could be worth a natter abouth the disks too
Talk to Mike or Chris--tell em frosty sent ya

Ouch. At $12 per main and $8 per needle jet at least, that's $84 just for the carbies.

Yeah I dont know what size jets I nead, I was just told what i posted earlier, if they would suit a 91 zxr250 i'd be more than happy to recive them What is the phone number for mout eden motorcycles? and whats a "Mikunis"??

As for shandog, I bought the bike off him. He said he'd replace the bent disc......... He gave me most of his parts for the bike, so I guess he dont have any carbs.

$84 isnt too bad, I was told it would cost around 400-500 in parts to fix her from holeshot... :sly:

She keeps stalling at the lights and wont start again, is this do to with the battery or carbs (she wouldnt start at holeshot so they jumped her and she started) Could it even be the alternator not charging the battery? How much are new batterys or alternateors?
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Brand of carb. Jap bikes usually have Mikuni, Keihin.
There's also Dellorto, Weber, Amal, etc. etc.

Don't get too excited. Could be carbs, could be battery. Given that Holeshot jump-started it, most likely battery. Around $50 to $130 depending on sort. You could borrow a battery charger first, see if you can resurrect it.
Ask Shawndog the history of it. It may be knackered, or might just be run down from lack of a decent long run.
Bike batteries don't usually last long, as they're small and subject to a lot of heat and vibes, neither of which are good for longevity. Having said that, I got 7+ years out of one, and less than a few months out of another (faulty R/R killed it).
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

As stated in my email to you rm - I have another disc which you are most welcome to. I clocked those ones up on one of the lathes at work and they ran out less than 0.2 mm each. They are nearly new with 4.8 mm of meat in them so don't chuck them out just because the shop tells you to!
Apparently there is some place in Cambridge who straightens discs, I thought .2 was ok though - anybody?

You can turn the idle up to stop it stalling at the lights until you get the tune up. The idle adjuster is at the left of the bike between the fairing and the frame. It is a knob on the end of a cable. turn it clockwise.

The battery was fine when I dropped the bike off to you, My guess is that you have flattened it by stalling it. If the bike won't start, give it a little choke and it will fire into life. Running the bike up the motorway or such like should give the battery some charge, or leave it on a charger overnight.
There is nothing wrong with the alternator! If you're only riding it up and down the road the alternator ain't going to recharge the battery fully.

I don't have any carbs unfortunately, but I'm surprised to hear the jets are worn! sorry mate, I'll pay the $84 for the new ones if you want

Any of these questions and more could be answered by calling, emailing or pm'ing me.
