VMCC Round 6 / Taupo Test Day Pictures

Hiya. We took some pictures whilst down at Taupo for the test day and round 6 of the VMCC Winter Series the following day. Well, 556 to be precise. There are some quite good ones including lots of 'action' shots from turns 5, 7, 8 and 17 - lots of knees down, a few wheelies, and Dodgy Matt staring forlornly at the smoking remains of his Gixxer.

Unfortunately, because we were using a camera that costs less than the lens caps on the rigs the professionals use, the quality's not that great. Most 'action' shots are a bit on the grainy side.

Anyway - the pictures are all posted up on our website. Go to www.bikestore.co.nz and click on the Gallery link at the top. It should be pretty easy from there.

    P.S. Wheelies on page 20 and 27.

306 photos on the Racepics website - http://www.racepics.net.nz/v/circuit/taupofinal

Attached photo comment - Great style - knee down - aggressive stance - going for it..... but..........

Speedsport ones should be in 2-3 days as I have to keyword every image with your race number.

    Cheers Glenn

    Hey Dan,

Thanks for taking all those pics. Didn't have any with my knee down - got a few now!! Also great you took photos each lap. Good to see what the gaps were each lap, and where everyone else in the race was!! Cool.

Thanks for the plug Glen. Edith and I had a great day and really enjoyed the racing. We got some great pics. Been a long time since I have been on a bike, and its good to stir the blood watching you guys out there doing it.

Many years ago I was a good mate of a pom called Austin Hockley. Austin was 125 & 250 cc British Champion. He later raced a 750cc Norton Comando, he was mad bugger I can remember one meeting at Mallory Park were the damping nuts on the forks kept coming loose. Austin would use one hand to tighten them each lap, he won the race. It didn't always go his way though, he fell victim to the famous bridge at the Isle of Man TT races one year, destroying 100 metres of fence in the process. He could never remember starting the race. He did go on to start plenty more later though.

These days I spend my time with the camera being a full time professional. Edith and I travel around NZ covering the NZ V8's and support classes and cover a few rounds of V8 Super cars in OZ each season. I am sure that you will see us at more bike meets over the coming months
