    radar detector? "whistler DE1793"

    any one know of these and if they are any good, also what price would you pay? (tis a new one)

    In the various test I've read, and there's no shortage of them on the 'Net, Whistler isn't usually mentioned as a top brand.

    Their website doesn't seem to mention the model you mention.

    Valentine, Bel, and Escort seem to be more highly regarded, but it's your money.

    My Bell Escort 8500 and RAM Bracket performed flawlessly again this weekend - saved me 3 times.

    Latest info is "forget the Valentine".
    Bel STI Driver is the way to go.

    Do NOT get a RMR DLS315!!!! According to one review I read you are better off using the cardboard box it comes in, mounted on your dash! I have one at the mo, anyone want to buy it off me?

    errr yup.
    I have some seriously heavy-footed, wrist-twister mates with the Bel and they love it/swear by it.
