Hi
Would any one be interested in rental bikes for track days or Club Racing. Bikes would be race preped 600's and a few 125's for young guys to give a go before committing.
If so what would you be willing to pay??
Cheers
Chris

Absolutley! I'd be willing to pay $150 - $300 for a day of riding as long as that includes fuel and a no liability contract if I bin...
There are LOADS of track days in the UK that provide bikes from £150 - £300 for a turbo Gixxer, you have to pay a £300 deposit on the bike which is refundable if you dont crash or your maximum liability if you do crash.
Good luck, i hope you manage to put this in place, just finding an insurer will be the tough bit i think...

Sounds good to me.
Philip Island does something like $500 for a day on a 600, including gear and helmet. So a bit less than that if you have your own gear (and cause our tracks are not exactly as nice as Philip Island)
Yes I'd be keen to try both a 125 and a 600 to help give me some direction for the future.
$100/day for bike rental? Or a per session fee?
Plus track day fee.
Plus crash damage if needed.
But what would happen if crash damage was thought to be caused by a motor problem (it seized, or chain broke, etc), who would be libel then?
$300 with no futher costs and I would be sold. Biggest slow down for a trackday and road bike is not wanting to break it. Give me a bike with no finiancial reprecussions if I crash and I will have a ball. At the end of the day you will probably find if you put full frame sliders on it there wont be that much damage to the odd slide every now and then. Just hope everyone doesnt go out and cartwheel your bikes in the first day.

Yes, I reckon $300 - $350 if you have your own gear (boots, leathers, helmet etc). I think it'd be quite popular, but the insurance thing would have to be sorted - no point riding if you have to pay the first $2000 if ya bin...

Before people post maybe they should just have a think about what it costs for a day of flat out riding, excluding trackday fees. The maintence would be the same as for a race bike, maybe more so to avoid public liability:
1) Tyres, could be knackered in a day for a quick rider, but may last on average say 3 days depending on type of tyres. They will probably be shot in a day regardless at Taupo ($600)
2) oil/filter change every second day ($80 for reasonable oil and filter)
3) Brake pads/fluid every 3/4 days ($120)
4) Chain and sprockets every 10 days($250)
5) Labour for above ($60/hr)
6) Recouping cost to set up as a trackbike (suspension, oggy knobs, fairings, exhaust etc)
7) Travel to and from track
8) Fuel for a day
etc etc etc
and that's before anything goes wrong/insurance costs etc.
With reasonable bike prep (which people should do) it would cost the average rider more than $100 in maintenance costs (doing the work themselves) just to do a trackday on their own road bike, let alone hire someone elses race prep'd bike and have them assume all maintenance/setup costs.
I reckon maybe $500/day to go anywhere near making a profit.
Here is the cost (in Aussie dollars) to do a Phillip Island Rideday. Tack on another $219 for a rideday or $400 for a cornering school and check out the insurance costs at the bottom.....
"The bike only cost for the day is $299 all inclusive* (plus the cost of participating in the event of course).
Our new Leather sponsor RST have provided us with a range of leather suits for hire (along with gloves), as have AGV helmets & Alpinestar boots. This service is now available at very reasonable prices with total cost being $55 (for any 1 item or more) per day.
Package cost for bike & riding gear $349
Bike only $299
Full riding gear (1 or more item) $55
* This includes fuel and regular tyre wear, however a tyre levee may be imposed if tyre wear is considered excessive.
* A $1,000 deposit is required for every bike hiring, with an additional $2,500 excess applicable. Repairs are charged per accident to a maximum of $3,500.
*A $500 excess is applicable for every riding gear hire. This figure will be pre-authorised on your credit card 48 hours prior to your event. Alternatively, cash holdings for the above amount can be organised for the day of the event."
You could always have some street fighter styled 400's for the budget inclined customers.........Cheaper to run, cheap for you to buy and maintan, with enough boogie and ok handling to give someone a experience on the track.
Its harder to lose weight than gain horsepower.
I would know a lot of people who would be keen, we were all actually planning to go to phillip island to do it... they charge $300 for fully prepped k7 gsxr600s I think theres a $1000 bond if you crash, fair enough if you riding a $15000 bike I say... If you only $100 damage thats all you pay... Its still better then riding your own piece of 20k isnt it? anyway check out http://www.phillipislandridedays.com...tent/view/4/5/
I should learn to read the previous post....... hahaha take it easy im a newbie![]()
I'd happily pay up to $600 a day with an insurance excess of up to $3000. Anything less than that and you are paying for people to ride the bikes.

I probably wouldnt have a problem paying something if the bike was written off but a small low side and paying up $1k for a new paint job and I might as well be riding my road bike.

Well I guess it shows the differance in what people want.
Some would be happy with a 2000 model 600 to hire.
Others will be wanting the latest thing out.
And remember if this is for Race Days (as the question suggested as an option ), you'ld be getting only *25 odd laps in your day. (*vic club norm.)
I would happily pay $300 for the day plus bond and excess plus excessive tyre wear if applicable as per Phillip Island deal.
