    What to do in Wellington?

Alright, so my flight arrives at 8am on Friday 2nd of November, and i'm yet to book my flight to hop across to Blenheim on the same day. Just wondering what trouble there is to get up to in Wellington City for a person with no transport other than walking or public services.

I'm going to check-in for my outgoing flight first thing so I won't be lugging my pack around.

What would you do given 8-10 hours of free time?

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Ummm, avoid the howling Southerly, and watch the planes trying to land/take off.

Get a bus in to the city and back. There is HEAPS to do in Wellington. I reckon if you can't find anything to do in Wellington, day or night, you're not consuming oxygen. Gassit Girl and myself try to spend a few days there once a year or so

So you are suggesting that he needs to take a box of matches?

Walking from the airport to the city only takes 30-40 mins. Good exercise as well, for where you're going!
Has anyone mentioned a visit to Te Papa yet?

The real Treaty is at Archives NZ and is on display. Archives NZ is just near the railway station

Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

    we will remember them

I think to be Politically Correct and all you should really use weapons that the Maori activists would use.... and Molotov cocktails would make a much more impressive sight!

I thought that Te Papa was rubbish.

Gareth - in Wellington buses and trains can take you virtually anywhere you wanna go...unlike the joke that is public transport here in Auckland... you will be able to get around fine.

You could kick around in the city for a while...can't remember too much else. It has been a long time since I was in Wellington...

It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
