Get thee self to Andorra! Seriously. With a few grand to spend - 'cos you'll spend it! It's a tax haven, so NO import duties. And that means things like Dainese race suits for NZ $800 ~ $1200 - more models of Arai helmets than you knew existed! And 5 or six doors down the road - ANOTHER shop selling the same or similar stuff, so they're ALL competing in price!
Plus you get the full range of all the other stuff that you'd buy in an airport duty free - but half the price or less! (Booze, perfume, electronics, cameras,...).
Was there 12 years (groan... THAT long ago?) - on bikes, only planned to stay for a couple of days - 6 days later we rode out, after we'd shipped out several large boxes full of gear (some of it the old kit that we'd replaced while there) that we couldn't fit on the bikes!
A cheap way to get over may be to check out the 'bucket shop' cheap package deal airfares (you ski?), and get a week package from the UK...

Last night on the way home the guy on the Ducati Paso broke down just on the edge of Dragsville.

Had huge sparks coming out the back and smoke out the headlight, it was still running and sounded a bit flat. He was going to get his wife to come get him.

I'd noticed the starter on it was sounding pretty sick when we left the pub...

The joys of Ducatis! I'd told my missus to not be too surprised if I called for a lift home too! Mine had refused to even turn the starter over a couple of times earlier in the day, plus then the indicators stopped working after I washed it... then started working again as it dried out.

Bugger about the break down, that is one nice looking bike.

I think your bike Steve has run out of Indicator fluid!

Great ride 200 odd kms again, and about 12 bikes, that’s two weeks in a row, people may start to think the Thursday Night Ride is about riding…..

Sure was a good night, Sorry to hear about the 907 and can't help feeling a bit guilty about not helping out. Hope he gets it sorted!
So T.I.E, that's a bit sudden, hope you have a great time. Don't rush it and see if you can make the IOM TT in July. Best bike event I've ever been to bar none!

I'll second that! They don't call it the 'Mecca' of motorcycling for nothing!
