my arse is sore but i am grinning up to my ears.

that was a great ride, good to ride with some sensible people at a sensible pace. trackday was awesome too but a bit boring just watching other people ride. the scenic route coming back was good too, will definitely have to find another excuse to go to taupo for lunch or something (not with those people who have to fill up every 120km hahaha. hobags FTW, only filled up twice for the whole trip)

Thats because your fuel is all on the right side and not on the left side... the bottom of the tank is shaped like an upside down U.. just shake it around a bit and lean it left and you'll get some gas back down the reserve pipe.

the other thing is if u run ur carbs dry aswell u have to wait for it to suck some more through the system... notice turning off ur tap wont kill the engine cuz theres still gas in the carbs

incredible.. mines an 18L tank, 250cc twin aswell and I only ever see 250kms when I hit reserve, with possibly another 30 kms to go. But then again, I never get into 6th gear anyways unless I'm naughty

Like, i ran out of gas about 1km from a gas station so i just manned up and pushed it there, fulled it up and it still didnt start? only started when i bump started it.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

All this talk about numb arses means you've been having a good pootle!

We had plenty of stops for fuel, cancer sticks and in Fub@r's case - he got everyone worried when he didn't turn up as TEC due to tyre issues! Heck, I ended up TECing him at one stage and before Taupo, he pulls off to a side stop ... and I thought he had more tyre probs. Turns out he just wanted to take a picture of the breath-taking vista that was panoramically spread before him! :slap:

And then it had to happen, the two fools that accompanied me let me take point ... and the pootling began! Rozzers were present and the usual dodgy cagers and classic NZ road conditions made for entertaining bedfellows ( ooer!)

Good to see McJim and Chickadee before they flock south, Zapf with his portable handcannon shooting piccies and a few other KBers (BuFFy, Sanx to name a few)

Riding down the SH, the cheesecutters were an ever present spectre and I've never enjoyed riding near them. Overall, it was just an excuse for a good pootle, and it seems its time for me to change the oil and filter again in my little ol'hornet!

Thanks to the group, we made good time and with a minimum of fuss and bother. Right, whens the next pootle?

the hobags managed on one tank from taupo to auckland going throguh te kuiti. trip meter read 350km by the time i got close to home, filled up and still had 4L in the tank. funny enough coming back i got better mileage than going down, wouldve though the twisties wouldve sucked more gas but i guess crusing at 130kph sitting on 8.5k rpm for long stretches is worse

Perhaps the gas milage reading you're getting is also distorted by the same thing thats causing some hyosungs to read 175 at their top speed :P
