    The bit about game fishing
we (brother and myself) have hooked up a marlin
taged it, put the gear back up and hooked the same one
15 mins later,we did not tag it the second time
did the release, bugger me the marlin is back for more
recked the tuna teaser and more, pain i think not,
I wonder if it is leagle to tow dumd arse yanks

Saw it. I know and like Jim Boyd, but I think he's losing it. Prosecuting fishermen? Does he realise how many Kiwi's fish?
If, by some paricular form of lunacy, he won. Just imagine what that means for an island nation, one with a large fishing industry.
He should concentrate on bringing to justice people who wring magpies necks.

    Welllllll

I don't think I agree with you there, I reckon all living things experience pain, however, possibly not as we know it. They even suggested at one time, that trees feel their own variation on pain when they get cut down. I truly think it will be a long, long time (if ever), before we'll know for sure.

And I'm without doubt that they are suffering, you can see that just by watching. But, I don't really have a strong view either way for fishing, I've even tried it myself but I am too impatient, and never catch anything (oh, I get violently seasick, another small problem). Thinking about it now, I don't really have a problem with fishing, since I doubt any fisherman reels in a fish, thinks "nah, this one hasn't suffered enough" and lets the line out to reel it back in again. I can definitely see the attraction of catching a Marlin, but, I've heard it can take numerous hours (6 or 7) to reel in some of them. So I guess you can argue both sides ad nauseum.

Are you serious :spudwhat: So what we should not ride encase a bumble bees face goes out it's ass Walk on the grass encase it feels pain :spudwhat: or even eat for that matter Get some perspective in to life Yes if you are going to kill it, what ever it is say a deer or whatever, do it quickly and humanely but these things are part of life and if we all worry about the warm fuzzes we are going to go nuts and or starve

    Hold on

I was just stating a fact I'd heard. I'm not all "no, don't hurt nature..."
I eat meat, fish, and even walk on grass.

there is the point of a fish having a very short memory span. So pain now forget later. But i mean seriously there are endangered species but most of the fish types being caught are a dime a dozen. I dunno i find the whole issue silly. Then again those who harm the fish and then let them go are just dickheads. If the fish is damaged then put it out of it's misery and have yourself a nice dinner. If not tag and release.
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...

The funny thing about the people who go on about this sort of cruelty to animals Is that they are most probably hurting a lot more plants/animals than what the fishermen are doing.

    Have a look at this

    http://maddox.xmission.com/grill.html

And have a look at an email response in relation to this (or a similar article)

It’s taking the piss, but raises a good point.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

I don't think yank burly would attract many fish, it would be like using a cheese burger for bait.

Does anyone else think that this should be nominated for the (inaugural) KB Free Verse award?
