Way less bikers in this neck of the woods than in Akl and surrounding areas though. Bikers over here are still refusing to wear protective clothing too (shorts, t-shirts, no gloves etc). I guess sporting the leathers in 30+ degrees could get a little sweaty...

Anyway, a quick hi and yep, catch everyone at the BBQ. Back next week and am looking forward to jumping back on my bike, it's a bit depressing being driven around in a car everywhere (especially in such good weather).

Oh yeah, and hope you suckers are enjoying studying for your exams in Auckland city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Issac, for the past 2 days I've been working on my bike with Mike from NZ Motorcycle Rentals and there's only one word to describe him (and I reckon it's still an understatement) "AWESOME".

He's probably one of the nicest human being/mechanic I have come to know for ages . What kind of other workshop lets you work with him and at the same time, he's happy to chat away with you as if you're one of his best buddies. You're also always constantly learning from him, the time spent, is all quality time!

And tell you what, I was glad that I did most of the tedious shit like taking off the fairings and putting it all back together. Otherwise that would've been one and half hour wasted of his time, by doing nothing but taking shit off. During the process we had a good chat about why fucken workshops charge so much is because there's so much on and off with everything.

I reckon from now on, he'll be my 'go to it guy' !

I used to take my bikes to Ricky's place back then he was a mechanic for Mt Eden. Top bloke good price and always happy to chit-chat with you while working on the bike. Showed me his project Suzuki too. Shamed he is working overseas now.

Good to hear mate and of course, I agree with your comments (that's why I recommended him!). If you see him in the next few days - give him a gentle reminder about the KTM - I'm hoping to jump on that as soon as I get back.

    Cheers.

^ Sorry to tell ya, but I over heard him say your KTM was a "piece of shit" and "they don't make old forks like that anymore and plus the new cylinder pipes are all single ones now".

    Hahahhahaha.. It's the truth....

spray paint plastic is never a good idea - buy some black ones i say!

    or just sticker her up!

if she was mine i know what i'd do - same thing i'd do if i ever bought a ute or made my dirtbike roadworthy:

have her looking rough as guts, COVERED in mud with a good amount of evidence that she gets the thrashing she was built for
