    Post Drinking...

    Drinking...

When does 'drinking' (alcamahol) become a "problem" ?

How do you know when it is a problem?

Drinking because your depressed about something?
    When it is happening everyday?

    What are your thoughts??????

When drinking causes problems in your life, with work, family, friends etc, then it's time to tackle the issue.

There's plenty help out there for anyone that needs it.

what about as a "coping mechanism" ? is that a bad thing? Is it healthy?

It becomes a problem when you get done for being DIC on the way to the booze shop at 9am.

Or when the booze doesnt last the ride home.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Heck no, it ends up being a crutch, or a form of escapism, niether lasting nor helping with whatever problem you had in the first place, It just grows a bunch of new ones. Its like stopping an oil leak in your bike by not putting any oil in.

Its a problem that builds slowly but solidly, but its capable of destroying everything in your life, but by the time many people relise this its far to late.

    I drink, plenty.
I believe it'll fix most problems ( or at least lead you to believe its fixed).

The one thing it wont to, is fix any problem that smells of girl problems.

I've been having a drink during lunch + dinner at work all week now, and I feel thats the only reason I made it thus far.

Honestly, if you're feeling down the last thing you should do is to hit the drink, weed, whatever.
Work out the bad stuff and then have one to celebrate it

Drinking everyday and feeling that you have to in order to cope with your situation would be a danger sign to me. I drink only when I feel like drinking - not when I feel the don't like to be NOT drinking... Sorry if that was confusing. What I mean is that if you feel like having drink it's ok, if you feel that you have to have a drink to feel ok - then you should be wary.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

If a friend tells you that you have a drinking problem, listen to them! They will be right!

The only effective "coping mechanism" is to face and deal with the issue bothering you.

I'm not saying "harden up", but being mature, means being able to face issues and learn how to deal with them, and having the self-discipline to make the changes necessary in yourself.

Knowing what you should do, is far different from actually doing what you should and is the main difference between immature and mature. Of course even mature people may not know how to deal with something or what to do, so being able to ask someone's advice and considering it, shows maturity and strength.

Saying "Sorry" to someone you've hurt, engenders respect and if they see you trying to change, or learn, they will forgive you when the emotions settle. Humble doesn't mean weak.

The problem is admitting to yourself that you need it.
