just a quick update on road,in todays daily news,a report of a rider falling off in the gravel and suspected broken leg,a group were staying at the pub and going north.
Lady concerned was 40 yr from Wairarapa,said the newly sealed part of road by Tangarakau,was cause and was slow speed due to newly laid deep gravel not graded,should be done by next week but as usual care needed.

nor can i ,wanna show off me new hornet ,this will also be a great learning experience for me as its my first(hopefully not last) group ride with any Kiwi Bikers .i checked out the road the other day (forgottern Hwy) on the way to auckland , looks great,saw one of those triumph street triples stopped up and asked to have a look ,very nice bike with the gleeming lime green paint ahh one day ill have one (in my dreams )

Sounds good and I'm tentatively in, bearing in mind I may have to work. Although I suggest an early lunch at the Whangamomona Hotel as I think we'll need it by then. It's at least 3 1/2 - 4 hrs Palmie to Whanga, taking into account gas stops and pics. The place is a bit of a legend too and going in this direction we'll hit the most intense parts of the road after Whanga. The Hotel is a great place to soak up the atmosphere of the area. Afternoon tea and gas in Taumarunui/Turangi?

Totally, if somewhat belatedly, agree. Will be there if at all possible. The road and scenery are stunning and not to be rushed. The hotel is all part of the experience:

ohh yeah her range appears to be about 180 ks before filling up ..could get 200ks but would hate to have to push her if i am wrong
