    Annual biker social weekend??

I have only recently come back to riding and after attending the Cheesecutter protest run, I could not help thinking that there are so many good people that were there that you would like to get to know and socialize with. I know in America and Aussi they have such a thing, I think Coffs Harbour has become the place in New South Wales. I'm thinking that the owners of all bikes would be welcome as that would help create a better understanding betwen the different groups of bike riders we have in NZ. (Sporties,Cruisers and others). The benefits from that are numerous ie. choosing you next bike. There may well be something in place allready that I am unaware of. We would need to hold it at a location where there is lots of accommodation and fairly central. It would be a great meet ANY THOUGHTS???

That's the sort of meet I was thinking of. I think out of Auckland is the way to go, giving us a chance to catch up with guys and gals from all over who we would not normaly catch up with. Funny enough, my thoughts were round that Taupo area, good and central and good roads to ride.

There is the 'rapa Rumble in March next year...

Would the 109 tow the boat, and the beer? Bay of Islands would be good as long as we could attract others from round the country. A fishing trip after the BBQ night would sort us out!! Might save on ground bait. Plenty places to stay up there.

I reckon somewhere north of Auckland would be nice, it seems to be the least travelled area, look at our calendars, they are hardly any runs/events north of Auckland and I'm not talking about going to Puhoi for a jar or two.

    Thoughts?

Yep agreed, we have discussed doing a loop run up west coast to kaitaia and down east coast through bay of islands as a two day or long weekend run... as soon as summer arrives
But I understood ( i could be wrong of course.. Daja47? what did you have in mind ?) this thread was looking more at a general get together from all areas, if so then it would need to be central north island so everyone that want can attend.. so Taupo/Turangi/ Hawkesbay-Gisborne/ Taranaki, type area and probably also over a couple or three days... what you think?

North would be good. If there is going to be something happening in the Central North Island, we could do both. Do the Northland thing either before or after for those that would like to head up that way. We might be surprised I like that idea of the run up through Kaitaia and back down East Coast.

I don't see many for the bottom of the South Island either... Or do you just want to make it easy for yourself?

There's a WIMA motorcycle rally in central Auckland if you don't want to go far.

ok, you are thinking of a Northern Annual meet?, not a North Island Annual one...
Ok, So there is a North Island Annual meet in Turangi/Taupo around Queens Birthday which had a good turnout from all over the island this year..

What about a Northern Annual Meet mid summer maybe even Akl Anniversary weekend or Easter Weekend. Day one; meet at Kerekeri. Day two; a group run for everyone to do the Kaitaia loop.Day three, break into smaller groups for runs home.
We would need to book camp/bach/motel/hotel/whatever well in advance thoug as this timeof year is busy unless we tent it...

We pretty much did that a little while back! Think it was the second weekend in October. There were even Welly riders there ( don't say I never put in a good word for the Wellies! )..........www.rustynuts.co.nz
