    Fostering children

If anyone's got any experience with fostering children (officially) and don't mind answering a few questions, could they please drop me a PM.

You could always try having your own children with your partner, or if you don't have any lead in your pencil adopt, or is the reason for wanting to foster a way to try to extract more benefit from our social welfare system, while you are hear, and the when you have had enough of New Zealand you can send these children back then you just go back home with no conscience. Any way must go unlike you I have got a job to go to.

Either you know something the rest of us don't about Sanx, or those were pretty insensitive words.....

Umm dude, if I hadnt been fostered as a child then I would've been more fucked than I am today! Most of the people who foster children do it out of love. Also alot of people that foster children work a full time job as well. I think that your criticism is a bit over the top!

We had more than 80 foster kids pass through my parents home over the years, and I can assure you that you don't make any money out of it. It costs you money, so there is generally a more noble reason to make the sacrifice.

zrxer, are you some kind of idiot?

That's right. All of the above. You caught me. How clever of you. I'm humbled by your laser-like insight and deductuve reasoning.

Or on the other hand, it could be we're trying to foster one child in particular; one my partner and I have known since she was born five years ago and whom we both have great affection for. The child's mother is criminally irresponsible, regards the child as a burden and spends half her time trying to work out who she can dump the child on so she can go out and get stoned. The child's father is a convicted drug dealer who's still in jail. Because the parents are still alive and the father would not agree to adoption, fostering's the best and only way we can ensure this child gets the attention and upbringing she deserves.

Is that a good enough reason, or are you going to continue spouting utter shite? Please feel free to continue making laughable threats via red rep as usual. But, if you want to do anything about them, perhaps think about the time and the place - trying to pick a fight at yesterday's funeral showed either a monumental lack of respect, or a similar lack of intelligence.

Ah, there's twats everywhere and KB is no exception.

Fostering children seems like the most charitable act, but like almost all acts of altruism I bet you do get something in return: love from the child, respect from your friends and the knowledge you're making the world a better place. So really, you are being greedy (in literally the nicest possible way).

All the best; I hope it works out for you. You are doing a very good deed.
If you need someone to moider the prick in jail, I'm sure someone on KB has connections...

Good on ya mate, its not going to be easy but I reckon it will be worth the work! I hope things work out for you both!

You really don't have to explain yourself to him. He's the one with the issues not you. I say good on you, and I hope things work out. Its obviously something that you have already put alot of thought into doing.
Every child deserves a loving family and a decent home. And you're prepared to offer that.
    All the best.
    Bling sent.

My folks fostered heaps of kids over the years. I've got one sister, but a huge amount of foster brothers/sisters. Good on you, Sanx. I could ask my now elderly folks any questions on your behalf. Cheers
