    front end woes

Thanks to my great tank slapper fiasco (outlined in other threads) i find myself in a conundrum. Then front end had started making funny noises and feeling pretty loose so i thought the front wheel bearings had gone (as you do) I took it in to the bike shop and well they told me there didn't seem to be anything wrong woth the bearings (they only went for a short ride so no speed , this they will be doing on friday). Took the bike home yesterday and it started acting up (feeling a bit loose) so what have i done???? Any ideas??

I couldn't tell about the wheel bearings by riding it either. I thought the only way to know for sure was to whiping off the front wheel and have feel for it with your fingers. I am not sure if I already asked you this but, have you checked your steering head bearings.

If in doubt, bring it to my garage and we can have a look at it. You can also borrow my motogp2 pc game cd if you still want to. It cant' be tonight though, I am off to work from work right now till the end of the night.

    ciao.

cheers man. I don't think it's the head bearings cause the front swivels pretty good and it doesn't feel like there are any spots. But it has to go in on friday to get those manafold seals put on so ricky said he'd take it for a blat and see if he can feel anything wrong. If he can't find anything i'll take you up on that offer.

    What about your front tyre?

There could be other causes: e.g. front tyre wear or unusual profile, worn shock - has it just started occuring?

yip ever since the tank slapper. The front seal has been weeping on the right hand side, but nothing too serious. I have a near new avon azaro sport tour tyre on the front and it isn't the best but i didn't have this much trouble. Hell i was going faster in the pouring rain on saturday and had more trouble on the sunday when there were just dry sunny roads (only after tank slapper).

What it could be Jono is that due to your fork seal going you could have uneven damping action between the two forks causing it to feel a bit "off" when you go around corners or lean it over as the two forks are working unevenly causing a kind of "flex".
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
