Hello from the other side of the world (Wazzup)

Hello to all the Kiwi Biker community from Spain... just at the other side of the world!

I live in Madrid and for the last 4 years the off road riding has become my first hobby. To be honest I'm not new to this, as I'm riding bikes since I was 11 years old, but during more than 10 years I forgot about this... maybe sailing -my other passion and somehow part of my professional activity- has something to do with this. But that's life: you always don't have time enough to do all the things that you would like to do, uh?... specially when you like to do a lot of things!

During the last two years New Zealand is always in my mind when I think in a new riding adventure... but I must arrange things to have at least 1 free month to go there... and that's no easy when you rule a company, you have two kids at home... and a terrific wife! Any how, as many other accomplished things, I'm sure that sooner or later I will go there... and 2008 seems to be a great year to attempt that!

    ... And introducing my bike:

Thank you. She has got a huge list of "improvements"... but if you really want to do off-road ridings most of them are very useful. The BMW Dakar is a good bike, very reliable (that's the her best skill), but is not "the bike", specially as it comes from the manufacturer. But with some extras you can make a short of quite good real trail bike, almost a dirt bike.

    There goes the list:

-Footpegs, brake lever and gear lever (Touratech)
    -Chain guard (Touratech)
    -Fog headlight (Touratech)
    -Xenon headlight (Touratech)
    -Handlebar risers (Touratech)
    -Radiator guard (Touratech)
    -Headlight protection (Touratech)
    -Handlebar (Magura)
    -Crashbars (2T Moto)
-Rims 18’ rear and 21’ front (Excel)
    -Steel braided brake line (Touratech)
    -Air filter (Unifilter)
-Oil filler cap with torx (Touratech)
    -Centre stand (Touratech)
-Chain pinion, chain wheel, chain (D.I.D.)
    -Handprotectors (Acerbis)
    -Sprocket cover (Touratech)
    -Brake cylinder cover (Touratech)
    -Fork guards (Fox)
    -GPS bracket (Touratech)
    -Side panniers (Sport Panniers)
    -Shock absorver (Hφhlins)
    -Fork suspension system (HFS)
-Off road tyres (Dunlop Rally Raid -rear- and Michelin Desert -front)

If you want to see her "in action", there goes the link to a huge report of my last ride in Morocco last April, where those pictures where made:

... Now I'm already thinking about the next adventure! (too bad this drug, uh?)
