I don't lie... I may refuse to answer on grounds that it may incriminate me, but I don't lie.. (My wife has never asked me if her bum looks fat in jeans)

    Everybody lies.

It's part of the human condition, and is a trait of the one thing that separates us from all the other beasties: imagination.

You tell lies every day, if you didn't you'd be sporting a large and varied collection of wounds, bumps, and outright dents. Lies are the glue that binds societies together.

Truly honest people need to live in a cave. Alone.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Very true Jim2.... I think manners and etiquette are just methods we have developed to limit the bruises...

    True.

But as in all things in society there are 'limits' - sadly some do not recognise these limits much to their own detriment in that the rest of society looks down on them for exceeding those (unwritten) limits.

I'd consider Carver a legend... shit, if someone gave me a t-shirt with writing on it "Carver is a legend", I'd wear it, even if it was just to piss off the haters

You're so easily impressed - now I have this table-tennis bat with a length of elastic attached to the handle at one end and a ball at the other, $500 and it's yours and you'll REALLY be noticed....and it might piss off some 'hater' - whatever they are...

I think you are wrong about that.
According to Homer Simpson weaselling out of things is what separates us from the beasts.

I was being exceptionally modest - I'd take that Ducati on "Hump Hill" and I know it.

Likewise. I will avoid answering or bald-faced state "none of your business" if appropriate - but there's no need to lie.

BTW: Anyone who asks "Does my arse look fat in this?" in the hopes of a complimentary lie already knows the answer and has no right to get shitty when you tell the truth...

I was quite interested until you mentioned that I myself had to seperate myself and the little amount of money I have for something lacking technology and other parameters as a source of amusement...

And when exactly was it wrong to be easily impressed?

Definition - Hater: What swantiger is doing to Carver...

Finally to draw back on what Slicksta has said in a previous post: Have you met Carver, and if so, do you know him personally?

Reminds me of the John Kirwin ads "Know me before you judge me"

    Pre-judging, a little like speeding.

Everybody does it at sometime - only some get caught out at some stage.

BTW Some of us judge the action, not the man. (if you know what I mean.)
