....not...
No farking way, just wash them and leave it at that.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
not a good idea![]()
DUCATI ALL THE WAY!!!
No.... never use tyre shine on a motorcycle tyre. Same with getting silicon spray on ya brake pads when cleaning your bike.
BIG NO NO, try avoid anything slippery on a bike.
Never let your enemy see your emotions, for it is the one weapon they will value most.
Its easy enough to do - just only do the side walls.
Its actually better to use a tyre cleaner rather than a shine.
I used to do it when i had a pretty bike.
Reactor Online. Sensors Online. Weapons Online. All Systems Nominal.
I once looked at a bike for sale-looked wonderful with Armouralled tyres-made the poor vendor clean it all off with meths and soapy water before going for a test ride!

IMO. save the money you would spend on tyre shine and put it towards a new bike......new bikes are clean and probably more fun than the current one.
Don't waste your time with the tyre shine. Save your polishing energy for looking after the rest of the bike.
The spray on stuff is real slippery if you get it on the edges so don't use that but you can buy the brush on stuff that's a bit like water based paint and I use that on my bikes without any hassle except for the extra time it takes to put on including washing out the brush afterwards.
Makes the bike look pretty like this http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/at...5&d=1093676652

Depends on the tyre. I dont use it on my current bike as sports bikes dont have much of a sidewall.
I used to do it all the time on my SR as it was obvious which parts of the tyre I wouldnt be riding on and I made sure I stuck to them.
Id imagine the tyre on a GN would likely fall into the latter camp.
Just spray it onto a rag then wipe it on.
