Why don't you cruise to Stratford and go to the plateau and ride back with other guys from Manawatu/Wanganui if they're riding.Bypass chateau part.
Thinking of doing that from Hawera, will be unable to do the start,so will ride to plateau, dad lives on Pembroke Rd(rd to mountain house)about 5km from mountain house,so will stop off there, when bikes start to go past will join in,then can shoot back home.

As a born n bred Nakian myself I was once of the opinion it should stay as Egmont, then I found out the arrogant English git (Lord Egmont) didn't even set foot on tera ferma. He sat on his boat & pronounced that Mt Taranaki shall now be known as Mt Egmont................pffff, piss off you git![]()

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
