    When aftermarket pipes go bad!

Setting off for work this morning as usual I enter the garage from the house, open the garage door, put on my boots, lid, gloves, etc., walk round the car and stick the keys into the bike (not noticing the door from the house open and close again). I fire up the bike with the usual crack from the cans which is promptly followed by a huge scream and then notice the door fly open and my 2 and a half year old literally fly back into the house screaming for his Mummy!

The poor wee thing had (unbeknown to me) followed Daddy to wave goodbye and literally gets the shit scared out of him. I never knew a toddler could move that fast.

I followed into the house and find him in Mummy's arms completey beside himself.

After much calming down I left for work feeling like a right b*stard and Lucas no longer likes Daddy's bike!

Ha ha nice.I guess if he starts playing up at times you could always threaten to put him in the garage with "the bike"

Hahaha! No way man, you need to get him used to the crack of a good twin right from a young age. Build up that appreciation!

Now what you need to do is tell the wife that you need to buy your boy a offroad motorbike so he is not put off them for life........oh yeah and that you will need one too (just to keep an eye on him)

Actually this is not silly. My son had a single bad day when he was young with the boat and now he hates them and wont come out (hence me selling the boat).

Best that you get him over it a.s.a.p. so he is not put off for life - give some positive fun on the bike.

Common. In 1979, I sat my then 2yo sister on my CB500/4. She loved that until I started the engine. She still does not like bikes.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Could have been worse. You could have jumped in a cage and Mum didn't know he had gone out to see you off.

You are quite right there, mate. Mum actually didn't know he'd gone to see me off as he'd never managed to open the door to the garage in the past.

Apart from making me feel bad for scaring the little fella, it's made me realise I need to get some sort of child proof lock thingy for that door.

Oh, and also never to presume anyting when it comes to the little'ns....
