07 Yamaha XVS1100

Having upgraded this year from an earlier xv1100, I have found the fuel mileage is pretty bad with this bike. Has anyone noticed something similar and is it a mechanical issue or am i just stuck with it?

What do you call bad mate? My old TLS is pretty shocking on the gas although seems worse because the stupid warning light starts flashing when theres at least 80 km still left.Oh and welcome by the way.

My 89 XV used to do 260 Km (riding 2 up) before hitting reserve, the new bike, same size tank, only does 210Km. Tank is 17 litre main. I started wondering when talking to a mate who just got new Harley, same main tank size but they get around 300 Kms. No-one at Yamaha NZ can tell me accurate figures about what I should get. Bike has only done 4800Km. Thanks for any help
