My dad threw a butt out his window once, my sis was in the back seat and it came back in the window and landed on her leg, and burnt it. Dad gave up smoking for a while after that.
I think it is disgusting as well. There is so much crap all over the roads these days, and sure, it gives the street sweepers a job, but it is a pretty shitty job!!
I personally keep my rubbish in my car (maybe the street sweepers should clean my car instead)

Ditto - and yeah, I pay for my own petrol and the environmental charges that comes with it. And frankly I wouldn't mind paying more for it if that meant people would be more conscious of the impact it has. Also, I eat my steak with pleasure and I pay for it too.

Littering is not about HTFU, it's about being anti-social and not facing up to your resposibilities as a citizen. As someone has said - there's a real world out there where your actions do have consequences. As such, unless you're actively striving to be an asshole and piss everyone off, you should at least clean up your own mess. I.e. grow up and accept your obligations as an adult, fucking sad if you have to have younger people come up and educate you on how to behave like an adult is all I can say.

I hadn't really thought about the environmental impact of flicking a butt out the window, spose after a few years it would add up, but that doesn't mean I need to educated by somebody younger. The HTFU was in regards to your bitching on here about it, which is clearly just an attention seeking endevour for fuck sake. Who needs to grow up when that is taken into account? Am I antisocial for having moments of thoughtlessness? Perhaps, are your statements grosly generalising that smokers shouldn't do so in public antisocial? No question, by the very definition YES.
