    Bike Meowing

I had just gotten my brand new ninja a couple of weeks ago. It was going fine until last week it started making a funny sound, similar to a cat meowing.

It happens when I am on the bike or have just dismounted and tends come on and off periodically for quite a while after I have gotten off the bike.

The sound appears to be come from the front of the bike maybe the front forks. Is this normal for a new bike or something I should be rushing it back to the dealer for a look.

If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very grateful.

    Cheers

Tank venting as the temperature changes. Only bikes I've heard to it are Kwakas, not sure if that's because of the way they design them, or I've only ever heard it on them... We just tell the green bikes to shut up

you would shit yourself if you heard my bike after its been turned off then, it sounds like its sending a fax.

and imdying is right, its the fuel tank venting, its a kawasaki thing. its quite amusing in summer, especially if you have a few parked together.

Mine does it too. Mentioned a lot on one of the ER6 forums ( or is that fora ). Just treat it as one of the pleasures of owning a Kawazaki

Possibly its the tank venting ( as mentioned before by my learned companion ) and even moving the bike around will slop the liquid gold , known as petrol, around again causing venting, but really I wouldn't have a clue but they all do it ( Normally can't hear it once it is going over the fairing rattling - another known issue )

The reason Kawasaki's meow like pussies is to remind you that you just never get sick of riding them
