5 seconds difference on a track is a hell of a long time. There's probably a lot of KBers that could beat MS time.

    Time Comparison

    Best time around Valencia
    Valentino Rossi ITA Camel Yamaha (M) 1min 31.002secs (2006)

2007 GP Free Practice times (1st and last)
    1. Casey Stoner AUS Ducati Marlboro Team (B) 1min 33.083 secs
    19. Kurtis Roberts USA Team Roberts (M) 1min 35.404 secs

2007 GP Qualifying times (1st and last)
    1. Dani Pedrosa SPA Repsol Honda Team (M) 1min 31.517 secs
    19. Chaz Davies GBR Pramac d'Antin (B) 1min 34.436 secs

2007 WSK Qualifying times (1st and last)
    1. Troy Bayliss AUS Ducati Xerox 999F07 1min 34.599 secs
    23. Dean Ellison GBR Pedercini Ducati 999RS 1min 39.434 secs

2007 WSS Qualifying times (1st and last)
    1. Kenan Sofuoglu TUR Hannspree Ten Kate Honda CBR600RR 1min 37.521 secs
    37. Javier Hidalgo SPA Hidalva Team CBR600RR 1min 41.439 secs

    Michael Schumachers time
    1min 37.9secs

Obviously there is a difference in terms of machines. But time differences are quite interesting.

A LOT of crap written by people on this post. The time by Shoemaker is very impressive and I have new found respect for him.
"...New Zealanders, for all their faults, have virtues that are precious: an unwillingness to be intimidated by the new, the formidable, or class systems; trust in situations where there would otherwise be none; compassion for the underdog; a sense of responsibility for people in difficulty; not undertaking to do something without seeing it through - "
