    Bayliss in talks with Kawasaki?

According to Australian Motorcycle News, Troy Bayliss is in talks with Kawasaki for next season in the MotoGP championship.

Ducati announced before last weekend's Philip Island round of the series that it would not be retaining the 2001 World Superbike champion.

Kawasaki currently has riders Shinya Nakano and Alex Hofmann on their books and it is thought the team would either field a third bike or arrange a transfer to another team for Hofmann who is already contracted for 2005.

Goes a little way to confirming the chat I had with one of Troy's mates at the Island. I noticed that the new helmet he came out with on Saturday had a whole lotta green in it, and when told he couldn't make an autograph signing session that night 'cause he was in discussions with a team for next year, I asked "all the green in the new helmet wouldn't be an indicator would it mate?". The response I got was a wink and "now, buggar off" with a big smile.

If his ride for next year is green it'll be a good challenge for Troy. Ability wise he is still one of the best riders around, it's just a shame the he's been left out in the cold this year by Ducati who loved him last year, and in his previous WSB, BSB & AMA stints. Nakano & Hoffman have proved that the Kwaka is no slug, so it'll be good to see him closer to the podium next year if they can continue with positive development of the bike.

I think Troys on the edge riding style will suit the Kawasaki.

I hope he takes it to all those poxy red things. Stick to makin' spagheti boys.

Bayliss is one off the best I think too do it such a short time and I think a in line 4 is probaly the way to go for him. The big K's have leaped this year and it's going to be a different story next year. Hope this is a true rumor as I would like to someone on this side of the world be on top again :spudwave:
