    another toasted honda stator

    Does anyone know how common this is on late model cbr1000rrrrrr's????
    (it's only done 21km's)

    Sorry to hear about your problem. I didn't think it is that common with post-2002 Hondas, but it does happen. It happened to my Blackbird when I was down south this year. See my post: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=47720 for my repair details to avoid paying the ~$800 for a new Honda part. Ken Cairns beefed it up for me so fingers crossed, we won't have any more problems for a while.

    yeh we'll be doin everything poss to avoid forkin out 800 slides for gen parts if it's not covered by mr/mrs honda

    What age is the bike?

    My Trumpy blew it's one at about 35-40k. Was still under warranty though...

    good news, honda have supplied replacement stator and flywheel(modified)

    The good buggers at Botany Honda sorted it all out and were kind enough to lend me the tool required, so a big up's to Botany Honda

    Now I just gota put it back together....
