Don't worry about having a low post count if you have over 2 posts you above the average.
There are plenty of ways to get it up into the thousands. One easy one is to welcome every new member just make sure your posts are over 10 characters and your sweet.

Infact having a high post count may just be an indication of keyboard diarrhea.

Could be because you are forced to sign up to see the attachments. If you just want to read trip reports etc then you have to sign up first. Which is also a good way of keeping people away.
