Mods editing thread titles without asking?

I started a thread today and get home to find that someone has edited the title.... I would PM the person who did it but no one asked me so I dont know who did it? I would like to think that at 27 years of age I am able to make my own decisions..... so why do it mods?....

Before any one asks iam not mod bashing but I would like to now why is all.....

Maybe an example of what was modified and how it was modified would help.

Or instead of dragging it onto the forums take it up with one of the Senior Mod's? Just a suggestion.

Yeah your prob right. It was no biggy but I just would like to know why someone would take it upon themselves to change a thread title. As I say no biggie and I prob should have pmed a senior mod, I would have thought though that the person who did it would've pmed me and said they had done it was all.....

ah sorry.. this thread : http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=60665

I had called it Wellington Motorcyles test ride day and someone changed it to WMC, which to some people isnt clear that it is Wellington Motorcycles. Like I say its not really a biggie but it wouldve been nice if they had asked first?...

Yeah, I remember some mod's would correct spelling mistakes etc, but changing that is a bit strange.

Thats what I thought. I had purposely called it Wellington Motorcycles so people knew it was WELLINGTON..... IN the thread I called it WMCC so now its not all that clear except to those in Wellys. Like I say I would have PMed the person that did it but no one told me they were gonna do let alone ask. Its all a bit "Helen Clarke-ish" IMO.... Ah well worse things have happened but I would like to ask one thing.... Why make yourself do the extra work when it was not neccesary?

It's an evil plot. All the mods have nothing better to do than piss people off.

    That is a strange one.

My guess, the title was changed to match the content in the thread.

For the pedantic, if you use an acronym, the first time it is used the full name should be included, then the acronym can be used from then on with all understanding its meaning (or the acronym is defined in a glossary).

Good thing we are not pedantic round here

Orginal Topic = Thread title (original 'Welly Motorcycle test ride day?') changed

Mod changed it since it didn't really say where it was at, i.e. it could've been any of the bike shops in Wellington. The particular mod thought WMC shows more where it is

A similar thing happened to one of my threads a while ago, the title was changed. The new title did not actually reflect what the thread was about. I did the "right" thing and PM'd a senior mod to get it put back to more accurately depict the content. Was a bit surprised to be honest that something I had typed, meaning intended, could be changed without a PM to me to say why.

Mod changed it since it didn't really say who, could read all of wellington, where puting WMC shows more where it is
Still think a note to the author would be a good thing if the mods think something should be changed. Personally, I would read Welly and understand it to be Wellington, however, WMC means nothing to me at all.

WMC is actually a Marathon Clinic. Why change the title to that I wonder?

Wasn't the cruiser photo shoot thread was it?
Noticed funny stuff going on with that, thought there were two threads for a while.
