Angry Anyone else had problems with Vodafone...

....pay as you go this weekend?

I topped up ($50 no less!!!) on Thursday, only to find that by Friday I had no credit left.

Phoned them on Friday morning in a blind panic cos had no idea where my money had gone (knew I hadn't used the phone that much in one day!). Oh yes, they knew all about it and were working on a system fault and it would all be fixed by the end of the day.....

    (Tui ad anyone?)

So come Saturday I still had no credit - phoned again - oh yes, my phone was one of the ones which hadn't yet been fixed up but it had been flagged and would be definitely sorted by 8.30pm on Saturday (conveniently outside their call centre hours...).

    (second Tui ad perchance?)

So, was busy all day yesterday and forgot to check, but this morning I checked my balance again and I STILL have no freakin' credit. Called them again and indeed, they were very sorry but it will definitely be fixed up today. And, by way of compensation, the girl put $10 OF MY OWN CREDIT onto my account, to be taken off my $50 top up when it's reinstated.....say what???? Giving me MY OWN MONEY is NOT compensation for a whole 3 days without the use of my cellphone, Vodafone. The weekend being my only chance to catch up with friends and family in the UK....

And the reason I'm not on a contract (before the PAYG nay-sayers start up) is that I don't use my phone enough for texts to NZ numbers to justify paying for 'free' minutes and texts that I won't use (international texts are excluded from contract deals) and the reason I'm not with Telescum is that I take my phone with me when I go to the UK and swap SIM cards over - works out cheaper than roaming, and given that Telescum don't use SIM cards, they were out of the running right away (Dave does the same and he goes away a lot more than me, so it makes sense to have us both on Vodafone).

Just frustrated about the whole thing and needed to vent!

    Rant over.....

(or is it? We shall see tomorrow when I check my balance..LOL!!)

Had $150+GST termination fee applied to my account even though it was agreed (in writing) that it would be waived (I was changing plans not quitting so didn't see why I should have to pay a termination fee).

A month later and emails to managers to get it sorted in the end.

Dunno what to say except that NZ cell phone companies are thieves. Just the call fees by themselves are ridiculous. Too little competition I reckon.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Yeah. I remember what happened to Telecom when they put in an IBM billing system (on AS400's IIRC?). And to the police when they went IBM for INCIS... BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

BTW - You know what IBM stands for? Inept Business Machines.

Ring them up again ask to talk to a manager then question if they were able to do this for you when the automated system was not functioning still why the hell did they not do this on the first call you made. Then ask for compensation explaining that they had the opportunity and ability thus you could have kept in touch with your family which is exactly what they advertise.

Given that I'm 8 months pregnant at the moment and so can't ride.....and also have no spare cash to replace my busted bike, am I supposed to stop frequenting KB and drop the bunch of friends I've made???

Is why it's in rant and rave - the place for non-bike related stuff.

If you've got nothing worthwhile to add to a thread, don't post.

    Oh, and get a life.

    Oh my, you're so right.

My hubby's just told me that my first mistake was to step out of the kitchen and put some shoes on - that can only lead to me trying to have my own opinions and stuff once I find out that there really IS a world out there. I shouldn't really even be using the interweb because that's a bit too much of a window on the world.

    So sorry.

Now that my kitchen duties are over and done with for the day (it's not like I work or anything cos, you know, that'd just be wrong), I'll get to making some soft furnishings until my hubby tells me it's time to run his bath and he finally lets me go to sleep for the night once he's finished getting rid of his day's manly energy on me.

Long story short , when dealing with any big company be it vodafone, telecom or state insurance if you dont get your way right away start being a cunt, Ive got loads of stuff that other people wouldnt have got from large corporates cause they simply want me to go away , Ive been told by people that the way I talk to customer service reps is unacceptable but if they dont like it they can fuck off and get a job at a company with ethics and morals, as far as Im concerned if you work for state and they dont pay my insurance your all fair game ,been there and done it twice, Ive also got free stuff from vodafone and telecom

Your husband obviously doesn't herald from Manchester, he's been too lenient. You shouldn't be able to type right now. His first mistake!
