If I take my hand off the bar, then I fall off.

Im usually too busy jamming out to the music in my head, so other bikers think I'm nodding to them... Being insane has its perks.

I'll reciprocate a wave to be polite, but won't initiate - because like someone said, bikers are wankers! More specifically, snobs.

If I take my hand off the bar I fall over and spill the drink I'm holding with the other hand.

Maybe they want you to pull to the left to let the traffic behind you pass?

I would not take offense if no one waves back and it may be safer for you too to stop it.
One armed riders must be the most dangerous bikers out there then.....I doubt they wave

How did we cope with moving the fuel from main to reserve when the engine started to splutter without pulling over "safely" and stopping? I am amazed that all those bikers from years past are still around.

Do you know when I'm at a café I just love jumping up and waving at every passing bike to see if they will wave back and fall off, none have so far but I live in hope

This has probably been done to death in one of the waving threads, but you can't beat a good waving thread

Wellington must be the friendliest place in NZ for bikes. I wave or nod at most other bikes I see on the road (With the exception of motorways) and I would say 80% return a wave or nod. Sports bikes, Harleys, trailies, they mostly wave, hell even got a nod from patched up gang member the other day.

Come on down this way and ride and you will get acknowledged. We are a friendly bunch here around the capital

I am. The OP is American? Why would we wave?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Never really got the waving thing, wankers a wanker, a motorcycle helmet covering his face changes nothing.
