LOL. and another got shirty when i refused to put lawn mower 2 stroke oil in her scoot.
I passed one on the motorway this morning, was very tempted to give them shit, but decided against it...good thing.... two seconds later, we both started to split traffic, I got jamed and aborted on one, but he/she kept going and ended up 3 or 4 cars in front of me,,,,,,Shame baby Shame!

Given an open road, they can blow my exhaust, get a REAL bike, try hard! But for city traffic, spose they have an advantage (shh don't tell anyone i said that).

Still, in my eye, scooters only count as learner / "still live with mum and she won't let me get a real bike" sort of thing. Gets crap from cagers and from bikers, why O why would you subject yourself to that????

Spoke to a guy in Botany, he had a 600 cc scooter, cost him 1 and a half times as much as my Katatana.....Why O Why would you subject yourself to that?????

A nods the go, or the half wave, the finger wave if yuo like. I don't like to let go a the heil hitler wave risks ripping you from the saddle if you have a good head of steam up when you unleash it.

When I first got my bike I kept thinking "Why the f##k is everyone waving at me? I don't know these people!?" I couldn't figure it out.
Then it dawned on me that only bikers were doing it (I'm a bit slow like that...), something akin to truckies or whatever, so I started doing it too.
Most of the time I get a similar gesture in response, other times I get no response at all.
Not a big deal really, but if you see a dreadlocked rider on a red Hornet coming your way - don't ignore me, I won't ignore you.

Best I correct ya currency values...seeing as I have been NODing for 35+ years!

NOD on the motorway...zero...I work there
Nodding to nod on the motorway....money in the bank(if Im chasing ya)
NOD on a small road...it wasn't me honestly officer
wave on a small road...Tsunami!!!..I ride faster officer cause big wave on way
NOD when scraping a peg...you got no proof, it wasnt me officer
wave when scraping a peg...trying to hide face from oncoming officer
Wave with right hand when scraping a peg...still trying to get back on after that tank slapper...THAT IS PRICELESS

    my observations
1, when on my own bike 95% nod or wave to me (obviously 95% of population dont know who I am)... thats cool

2, when Im on work bike about 50% nod or wave to (at) me ...thats cool

3,when Im on work bike about 0% of H D riders (excluding Buells) wave or nod to me ...that can be expensive for them !!!

KEEP WAVING OR NODDING just say hi..we're all on two wheels together NOD
RIDE THE ROAD....RACE THE TRACK.....DRAG THE STRIP......NODMAN....retired(now whose happy?)

I used to wave to HD's but gave up due to lack of response. Nothing against them personally though.
Dont wave to scooters because theres just too many of them! Most probably wouldnt know the custom anyway.
Nod or a wave to bikie posties and cops.
Any cager who pulls out of the way when I splitting gets a nod too.
I dont usually nod or wave too much while commuting - too focused.

I like to acknowledge other bikers with a finger lift or nod, also I'm tending towards the light flash but am worried it will freak out the biker thinking I'm saying Cops nearby. Funny about the Harleys, even though my ride is often mistaken for one by the layman, and i would see no reason to spend more than twice the price of my bike for a Harley, I do seem to find my waves are ignored by the H riders. Maybe it is because they are either too cool gang members or too cool advertising exec' enjoying their mid life crisis. or maybe I just look too uncool to respond to.
It's not where you go, it's the going.

May sound a bit lame but I always wonder if the bike I'm passing is a fellow KB'r........so this may sound like a lame idea so dont burn me if it is but

What if KB'rs wore a certain coloured armband? People will definetly make the effort to wave to a fellow KB'r

I often wonder that as well - but I'm not sure about the arm bands, sound a bit West Side Story, and no one wants to hear me break into song.

When I went for my first ride on the GN, I got several waves and I thought it was great. Still do think it's great and I'll nod, reverse nod or wave if I see a bike, provided I notice it in time...

MAybe thats it - the secret sign for Kiwibikers - stuff the armbands we'll have the secret (won't stay so for long) highway wave/salute. So whats it to be??
Maybe I should start a new thread on this one? The left hand heil Hitler would be different but at certain speeds could be interesting.

It would have to be fluorescent and flashing to be visable at speed passing on-comming traffic, alhough handy at MoT meetings for identification purposes...
