On the topic of acknowledging bikers, What is the signal from bikers to other bikers & cagers to warn of a cop that you've just passed???
I've had to back off from 160 several times after cars have flashed their lights. It's pretty cool coming round a corner, lifting the left hand to wave at the cop, then grabbing some clutch to drop a few gears and proceed on as 'normal'

Hold your left hand up in front of your shoulder, with index finger pointing up, and spin your finger round and round, simulating a siren...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Not brakelight scoops, more like a wheel stand as YOU'VE just past him, as you're going from 100 back up to whatever.
The approriate thing would be a one handed wheel stand with your index finger doing the siren thing.

    I wave

or nod, cant see the harm in it. If kids are waving out the back of a bus I'll activate the headlight up and down. My own kids think its funny to.

Its always a good feeling passing tones of bikes and everyone waving at everyone.

I remember one day i was coming back from hamilton to auckland, and i went past a bike - i waved, he waved back, but it was a different sorta wave.... he had his index finger in the air waving it in circles....

OH CRAP, COPS! i thought, quickly slowed down as i clicked onto what he meant, sure enough, next corner was 3 cops waiting there. Thanks who ever you are! I make sure i give the same sorta warning to who ever i see now too.
lol I wonder if that was me? I did do it once this year cause whoever it was (maybe you) looked to be fucked if he keeped riding the way he was

The one I was taught is to bring your non-throttle hand to the top of your helmet and then open and close it repeatedly.

The idea is to simulate a flashing light.

If someone else knows the move, then it'll work fine. If they don't know it, they'll probably slow down anyway as they try to work out what the loon waving his hand over his head was on about

I waved at all bikes, including scoots, hogs, etc. And even went so far as to wave at a guy in a car towing a dirt bike.

Just part of the joy of being on two wheels.

I just do the 'nod' thing...

But this one time....there was like ....oh um...uh...

I flashed a 'group' of Harley riders ...I just about caused them a accident
The world will look up and shout "Save Us!", and I'll whisper "no"
