Depends. If you're walking on a track and pass someone, yup . If you're in a mall, then nope. All about frequency.

eg if you're tramping in the wop wop's you stop and have a great big chat.

Same goes with bikers I guess. If everyone rode bikes , no one would wave . But when you haven't seen a rider in an hour I give them a air "High Five" (Borat voice). Kidding. But you know what I mean.
To split or not to split, that is the question

An iron-head Harley Sportster is hard to beat. (Up to '85 I believe)

Mates missus told me she use to warm '81 Sporty up for him in the mornings

Asked her how long she warmed it up for (Being male and all technical-like).

"Oh, I dunno" she said, "Just until the seat got so slippery I start to fall off"!!!

Did he stick to the seat after a ride?

I've found in my experience there's no hard and fast rule as to who waves and who doesn't. While on my dualsport I've had waves returned from Harleys, Sprotsbikes, old bangers, gang members, bemmers, and dualsports.

I've also had all of the above fail to wave back.

Personally I don't give a shit it I get a reciprical wave (hell I've been know to wave at a cage towing dirtbikes). It's not the reason I wave.

The reason I wave is because I enjoy it. Being part of the biker community. That's what waving represents (to me at least), why else would we wave to strangers? Because they are our riding brothers and sisters. Irrespective of anything else, we have the two wheels in common (and all that represents - sound familiar KB).

I was at the lights at Silverstream yesterday with the Missus on the back and a Harley (of unknown model) pulled up next to me and the rider (whom I had never met before) gave us a cheery "howzit".

    I did NOT expect that.

I actually started my "High Five" (Borat voice) thing instead of waving thing today. Was in bloody histerics.

    Ah little things eh...
