If it's late at night it'll probably be dark and because of this I may not notice the patches at first, especially if they're on the back of their jackets or vests. Any group of people approaching me in that situation is going to make me apprehensive. A group of big hairy bikers would elicit the same apprehension. I'm not trying to be argumentative. I'm trying to be objective.

I remember, quite a few years ago now, working for ambulance at a concert at Western Springs.

Someone that didn't want to pay jumped the fence way up the back by the zoo.
The fence was higher than he anticipated, and he broke a leg on landing. And he wasn't a small guy.

We needed to get him from where he was all the way down to the backstage area.

A group of Black Power that were there saw us, and one of them came over to see if we wanted help. They carried the stretcher for us all the way down - the crowd were only too happy to open a path for them.

Generalisations are bad.... you can meet good people and scumbags anywhere...

Sad, I can't believe people are so blind that they would give any defense to the shitbags.

Still, They generally turn on even those they befriend, so a night of bash, rape and theft maybe on the cards on the future.

I hope that sounds revolting, But that is what they do, The patch is their reward.

So while we're on the topic of making up the scenario... they walk under a street light ands lo - there's a full facial tatto you can wuite clearly make out, and a specific tatoo on the their forehead saying "JPS" in olde english writing.

    Your reaction now?

To be human you'd be scared because of the additional uncertainty int he situation. But it's ok - you judge the person before the patch... no?

I wave too. You hit the nail on the head, you are a friendly guy. Yup wave to all motorized two wheeled vehicles and believe me, there are those that will appreciate it.
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

Wave if you feel like - don't if you don't feel like it.

There is a ton of snobbery out there.

But to be honest - I was riding a GN250 like you and always gave a nod. about 30% of the time I would get one back.

Now I'm on a bigger bike I get about 90-95% back (or they initiate it).

    Moped (50cc) riders don't wave....

    Do they?

oh P.S. I wave... big big wave normally. Two hands wave if I'm in a very good mood

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Only do the "I'm a little teapot" wave when you are stationary at the lights! And welcome to KB, its a lot like the Hotel California, even with the raisins and nuts ...

    sit anywhere ............

    waving is optional
