Sigh. Autumn certainly brings out the worst in the repost/revisit posts.

Autumn is just THE best riding season in NZ. The scenery is fantastic, the temperatures are mild, and while it may rain sometimes, it isn't as damp as Spring. Or repost/revisit.

Could everyone just go for a ride please?

    Sheesh.

No I can't. My front tyre is flat and the replacement isn't here yet. No need to rub it in!!

Buy one of those blond hair extention things and have it hanging out the back of your helmet, you'll get plenty of "comraderie".

Here's one for the blame game: How come most (meaning more than half) of the sports/naked riders give a wave, but bugger all cruisers? Does the black leather/denim come with a pot of superglue to keep their hands on the bars?

no offence mate, but have a cry. Some people are too busy riding to worry about waving or acknowledging EVERY rider. Some people only wave to similar bikes... i may not wave to all but that is usually because i wouldnt have seen them til too late. I will however always check if there is a problem if someone on a bike is pulled over on the side of the road, assuming it is safe for me to stop.

I almost always wave or nod. Usually nod. Something I learned when I first bought my old bike up to Auckland a couple of years ago. Another rider went past, and he waved as he passed me, something that just rubbed off on me. Whenever I'm out with the club, they all wave as well - cruiser or sport-bike, it doesn't matter, we all wave.

I've had a great thought.....how about we come up with a special KB wave so that we can recognise each other on the road?
    Any ideas?

    Oh no... not this again!!!

This has come up more then 2 or 3 times You can buy KB badges which you can put on your jacket or KB stickers if you want other people to know you're a KB'er.. I have one it saves more distractions then tryin 2 remember some different wave/nod then just a normal wave or nod.

yep, must say I only get a 50% hit rate with the wave or nod, but as already said, some riders have their hands full changing gear or whatever, or are just enjoying the ride in dreamland :-), A question I do still have is, whats the kiwi biker sign for "speed trap ahead", in some countries its the Hazard flash (ie all indicators) but many bikes here dont have that capabiltiy.

Speedtrap, 5-0, speed camera alert: Hand in air, finger twirling like an old style flashing light.
