    You step on your willy.

Can't? Pull it 20-2000 times a day until you can.

Try a firmer grip and a longer stroke.

    Road Snobbery

Ok I grew up in the 60's and 70's and back then there was a lot of anamosity toward anything Japanese which permeated from my parents generation who went through World War 2 ... so I get it.

Most of the guys I grew up with hated "Jap Crap and Jam Jars". I was considered a rebel when I got my first bike a Yamaha RD 250 in 1972.

I grew up in an area where most young guys were into bikes. We all went to school with Graeme Crosby and his older brother Steven so it was very much a bike culture.

Most of my mates were into Triumphs (Harleys were way out of reach to anyone then). Funny thing was while they were always working on their leaky, gutless "Trumpies" whilst I was out riding without the BS they suffered. They considered them more "classy" bikes back then. I didnt get that because they were always breaking down, didnt handle etc and the only redeeming feature in my mind was the sound, especially the Triumph Trident.

    That was a by-gone age.

I notice riding around Auckland and its rural districts that guys on other bikes still wave out which is nice, as its always been but accept for guys riding Harleys and Triumphs.

I would have thought this subjective snobbery would have gone by now but it seems it still exists.

I waved out to a Harley in Clevedon about 3 days ago and he gave me the FU finger.

I was flummoxed at his attitude and I have noticed many others don't/won't wave, The only ones who wave are all expect Harleys and Triumphs.

    Anyone else notice this?

Hope you've got your flame proof jockstrap on. Waving threads can provoke fits of verbal aggression in some hereabout.

I remember simpler days when everybody acknowledged everybody else but those days are gone. Certainly I'm not going to let the people who can't ride unless they have a death grip on the bars with both hands spoil my day.

    Enjoy the ride.

    Haha funny. Ignore the arse.

Half the bikes on the road appear to be Triumphs or HD's now and most wave.

    Wave threads are great.

I tend toward the 'nod' keep my hand on the bar.

    male harley and triumph riders.

They* are rebels without a cause, they don't conform to the rules, they ride free. They wear leather vests, ass-less chaps and tassels. They are bad-ass mo-fos.
To everyone else, they are just brand-snobs.

    *(Those that ignore other riders)

A few weeks ago I saw a rider on a Suzuki GN coming the other direction and he was furiously waving at me, I had a smile to myself and gave him a friendly nod and wave back. We share a passion for motorcycle riding and shouldn't judge someone for what kind of bike they ride.

That's the only kind there was once. The bastard that first put an electric start on a motorbike has a lot to answer for.
