Never happened yet - it'd be a nightmare trying to check all the bikes.

not the case and cant ever see it happening. There are just too many bikes around to check.

tell them to HTFU. I think there could be a few photo oppourtunities with the HiVis vest. For one, you know there is no other time you will ever find me wearing one.

It is not as bad as it seems. Yes it is police patrolled but they are not on you like a hawk if you are being sensible. Last year I followed a cop at 125km/hr to woodville. I did hear of a couple of guys being charged with dangerous riding but none for speeding.

Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

I read a bit bout it in the local rag .. nuffin bout it being mandatory, but they wanna use the ride to test a variety of jackets with ACC workers being posted along the route to see which ones give the most visability where else will you get several hundred riders along the same route

I dunna mind wearing one for the day but my choice to wear or not to wear one after that ... & it would be the later

Here's my rough maps - probably stuffed up here and there out in the wops:

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...66018&z=9&om=1

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...a8b8b&z=9&om=1

    Cowboyz can put me right...

I'd say option 2 would be a good guess for this year as I'm pretty sure we went over the saddle last year. (Pretty sure - done it 7 or 8 times now...)

RE the vests - a lot of guys where them now esp on the big rides. Hate to sound like an old fart or something but with the number of bad accidents (including one's caused by the cops) lately they may not be too silly an idea. Lotta dudes had them on the GC...

    .
Queuing for fuel looks like a real pain. It is a long way back to Masterton afterwards. Do many carry extra fuel? I think I may carry an extra 5 litres.
    Here for the ride.

They are very quick with the fuel in Woodville on the day, the next is filling up before you have paid for yours
