Usually the bikes have to wait till 11:30 for the 1st session. So no rush getting there. Ninjaboy was the only one to ride 8 sessions. Actually it wasn't the harley that was the issue. I must have only once caught it on a turn. At least he was at max lean. Mind you if there was any 59 or 60 second riders out there they would have been bitchin at me.

Jeez Jill I let you hammer my bike and you complain about my sleeping in.

Matt you better get your CBR out there. Cos Jill likes cutting CBR's up at Puke. It helps her get her lap times down.

Awesome day. I have never stopped early at a track day due to being buggered. Amazing number of sessions. Great weather.

    Hey..

Been looking on that Pukekohe website and it says you need full leathers to do one of those Controlled Testing days... but I'd only got a teknics jacket that zips into a pair of Spool tousers at the back... you think this would fly?

Also thinking of doing the March Taupo track day, but same thing with jacket / trousers...

    Any advice.

I have done three track days at Pukekohe with Cordura pants. Your described gear should be fine.

Pukekohe Open Day > This Saturday 21st January

According to Gary at Pukekohe tommorrow, Saturday 21st January, will be a regular open day for the track (in addition to today). It was originally a car only test day however they have said bikes are welcome... if you are coming from quite a distance it would pay to reconfirm with Gary on 0294-967759.

Good day out there today. Only half a dozen or so bikes today, so you had a lot of track time to yourself. Big thanks to Frosty for the tips.

Hey, Quite interested on the controlled testing on 8th of april, i think its for cars and bikes. Time is from 1-5 pm, will that mean that it gets quite busy or will it be fairly quiet, I haven't been track riding before so will probably be slow to begin with and maybe slow the whole day
Would it be better to skip work on a friday?

going this friday if you interested! You should get about 4 too 5 20min sessions friday seems to have the least amount of people on the track

I'd highly recommend going on a Friday over a weekend day.

    Reasons:
-you get way more track time on the Fridays. One time that I went there was at most 5 bikes the whole day, and I ended up doing around 300km's on the track.

-the one weekend track day that I went to was full of clowns. Pricks with big egos, on big bikes, I saw 2 crashes in 2 sessions, each involving multiple bikes, one clown taking out another from behind in to the hairpin while trying to carve up the field.

I'm aiming to be there this Friday, may take a sick day if I get the new job I'm interviewing for tomorrow
