Hey Leong, I just watched the vid, and checked, as you went across the point where the vid started, and you did pretty much exactly 1.20 What kind of bike is that? GSXR600? Cool vid by the way.

I think there'll be a few there on Saturday - it's the last open day before racing at Pukekohe on the 26th.

    I'll be there anyways...

Should be plenty of us out there. Since Club race is next week and got to remember which way the place goes. So I'm putting my hand up.

Has anyone going to Puke on Saturday got a spare spot on their trailer and wouldn't mind making a very small detour at Manukau (just off motorway) to pick up my bike.

My trailer is currently not road worthy.

Any racey type people that wouldnt mind offering me a few pointers on the day.. Maybe for one round?
It's been a rough day. I got up this morning, put on a shirt and a button fell off.
As I ran out the door, I picked up my briefcase, and the handle came off.
Now I'm afraid to go to the bathroom.

Never done the track thing....... is it the sort of place you can cruise for a bit to get a better feel of the thing, or do you need to ride like nutter just to keep outta the way of the more agile/experienced riders?

its there for you to learn and gain confidence and an understanding of you, bike & road; as long as you don't go weaving down teh straights, corners or hairpins you'll be fine.

go and see.. and have FUN!

after watching the single lap video of the GSX-R600, I think I'll keep my money for a Taupo trackday.. The rider training I did there on Saturday (Short track 1.3km - Track 1) had more bends in it than the whole of Pukekohe, nevermind the Taupo full track..

Personally, to have any sort of fun at Pukekohe, you'd need a pretty big bike, not a 250cc like I've got..

a straight that isn't 5km (p/t) long.. Taupo Track 1, the back straight was pretty short.. got to 130km/h and then it was hard on the brakes for the left hander that leads to the hairpin
