Kev did a great job on the Manx Norton though......

Electric aides on modern GP stuff has ruined it for me - its akin to racing slotcar sets. I liked the switches of the 2 strokes. To me that showed the real skilled riders.
Is it still beastiality if ya fuck a frozen chicken??

The riders certainly werent any more skilled, they were just riding bikes with less potential. Which equals more excitement because the riders had to ride the bikes over the limit of the bike, now the limit of the bike is much higher. The level of the riders has not dropped.

Rossi waxed all those skilled riders on 2 strokes 500gp bikes

Yes it costs money, but then you have something better to promote, and get more bums on seats.

I was gunna fork out some good coin to get Schwantz here back in '09 for the TRRS and endurance race. Would have been great for spectators, and I could have chucked the money back at the competitors at the next event.

How did the Marlboro Series actually start, can anyone shed a light on that for us,maybe Billy ?
I thought maybe Coleman brought Hennen out in the beginning ?
Maybe the world cash crisis would make this a bad time to promote something like that, together with the state of NZ.
    That's the idea though Scrivy.

ron grant came out in 1969 in 1970 it was a rothmans sponsored meeting so the bigger name malboro came in and bought the whole damn thing.
next year we can do it easier as with plane package cigarettes we wont even need to put up banners etc

how many people flocked to the races a couple of years back when Bruce Anstey came over to ride?

I don't know the answer to that last one and I wonder if bringing out our ex champs would be that appealing to a newer crowd ?
I mean Marlboro was up to the minute whizz kids and I know we loved that. Certainly stunters would work.
It's such a different era now and it would be a brave man putting his money up (and lots more of it now) to gamble on it working.

ps I chuckled at the plain package comment, as I'm starting to feel like a lepper when I ask 'counterjumpers' to open the containers from Hell to purchase my cigars.

Us "counter jumpers" actually get in the shit if we open the smoke cabinet door to wide and customers can actually see in!
