His guys, with the events of the last few months, it has become evident that we post guidelines on how discussing accidents should be handled on KB. The following has been laid out, please keep them in mind from now on:

General participation on KB:

A reminder that abuse on this forum will not be tolerated. Yes, this is a biker community and general banter is part of the general feel, however any malicious/threatening comments or actions will be dealt with by the Moderators/Administrators. Please keep in mind that abuse includes comments made, in the forums, via the reputation system and via pm.

Only one sign in per person is allowed, any creation of aliases will have the second sign in merged with the first. There will be an automatic 2 week sin binning for this, unless a viable reason can be provided

Discussing accidents:

1) If the incident resulted in death, no talking about the specifics of the accident should be discussed until after the funeral attribute thread is fine, however no specifics. There will however be a 24 hour blanket on all discussions of the subject, this will ensure all family has been informed etc. Then the tribute thread can be posted.

2) If the event involves serious injury, then any comments will be removed until after the Police have notified next of kin and the moderators have confirmation of this.

3) The Administrators and Moderators reserve the right to remove a thread.

4) Any non death or serious injury threads, so general “biker down” threads are OK, but moderators will keep a close eye on them. We request respect is kept in these discussions. Any non appropriate comments will be removed.

5) Any accident that happens at a public gathering is fair comment, subject to points 1 and 2.

6) Anybody who posts fiction or malicious speculation, will have their comment deleted and will receive strong censure from the Administrators or Senior Moderators of the site.

Something else that should be added to this thread

New rule:

All embeded media must have HIDDEN and AUTOSTART set to FALSE.




So no hidden embeded sound files so the user has to hit the play button before it will download and play.

There have been so many historic cases of people being unhappy with the Mods, or having questions when something is actioned by a Mod, that the senior mod team has put this together:

1. KB has moderators, we have been asked by Spank me to help run this site and work on guidelines set by him to do this.

2. Moderators have a job to keep the site running smoothly, to protect the reputation of the site and its owner, to maintain order and ensure the site's standards of behaviour are adhered to. Members agree to the site rules when they join the site. It’s in the members own best interest to know the site rules in this thread, so that they know what is allowed, as these rules will from now on be strongly regulated to ensure consistency in all Mod actions.

3. Abuse of Moderators by members will not be allowed. We are here to do a job and abuse for doing that wont be accepted. Some KB members have been of the opinion that this site is heavily moderated. Compared to other sites that is not the case at all. This rule however will be carried forward as abuse of someone who is carrying out site rules is not fair.

4. If you are not happy with an action a Mod has taken, you can “appeal” the decision. This can be done by pm’ing a Senior Mod and letting them know why you are not happy. If your complaint is about a Senior Moderator, please pm another Senior Moderator who is not directly involved. The appeal needs be thought out and not based on emotion. Mods will only act on fact. The appeal will be discarded if you are complaining about an action a Mod has taken when a site rule has been broken. Only genuine complaints will be dealt with.

5. Moderators are not above the site's rules. Moderators are also site members with the same rights and privileges as all other members and will often post in a personal capacity. Moderators will generally make it clear when their posted comments are made in an official capacity and when they are not. If in doubt, members should assume that a Moderator has posted as a member, rather than as a Moderator. Personal posts made by Moderators are subject to the Site's rules and can be moderated (as necessary) by a Senior Moderator.

After careful consideration the Senior Mod team has decided to implement a new site rule for when members abuse mods. We have done this because some people think it's okay to abuse mods for doing their job, and it's not getting through that this type of behaviour is unacceptable.

Anyone who abuses a mod will receive these punishments:

• First offence - you will receive a site infraction (10 points / 4 months)
• Second offence - you will receive another infraction (as above) and two weeks in the sin bin
• Third offence - you will receive another infraction (as above) and four weeks in the sin bin
• Fourth and final offence - you will be permanently banned.

This rule is effective immediately and any previous or existing punishments do not count towards your four offences.

We have decided instead of removing Embedded Images all together, we will limiting the size limit allowed to be posted. There is no physical way to limit the size, so its up to the end poster to make sure there image is under the limits.

People have to remember there is still alot of users who are stuck on dialup, and having huge pictures inside threads, when trying to find information can be very annoying.

Quoting Embedded Images

Quoting embedded images, is also a big no-no, when replying to embedded images, remove the image from your quote.

Note: Quoting peoples imbedded images, will result in a warning, repeated failures to remove images from quotes, will result with an infraction.
