250 hornet headlights stopped working

Hi everyone,
Ive got a weird problem, well to me it is anyway.
For some reason the front bulbs on my 250 hornet have stopped working. The bulbs do not work when i set the the light switch to low or high, however if i use the passing switch (the one used for flashing ur headlights) the bulbs light up! Can anyone lend me a hand in trying to figure this out? Cos im running the bike with the passing switch taped down at the moment :P and ive got a WOF test coming up soon :S Ive unplugged all the wires from the headlights and a bit of water came out of them, so ive just left them to dry.
